My Personal Gaming History
Just a little section to put games after they rotate out of my "currently playing" tab with a few brief thoughts. And links elsewhere if I did a thing about them. This is obviously not a remotely comprehensive list. While in the future I may add stuff going back further than the late 2025 when I created this site, I have been playing video games intensively since around 2000. No way I can remember all that.
2025
- Hollow Knight: Silksong - Yeah, one of my new favorite games of all time. I wrote an article about it.
- Phantasy Star Online 2 +
New Genesis - Not my favorite in the series. Check out my video on PSO2 New Genesis here. - The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind
(Using Open MW with the I Heart Vanilla Mod List) - Was a really good time. The DLCs were a little disappointing, granted. But the main game was amazing, and I got really into my character and the world. I can see why it's such a classic. - Chained Echoes: Ashes of Elrant - A bit disappointing, compared to the excellence of the base game. I did a video on it and some other stuff.
- Final Fantasy Tactics - The Ivalice Chronicles - An absolute masterpiece. A great way to play a great game, and I am sorry it took me this long in life to play FFT.
- Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War - Definitive Edition - A great introduction to the RTS genre as someone who never really got into it before, and a great way to finally play a 40k thing as I've gotten into that franchise. It's also helped me find I really like Necrons.
- Phantasy Star Portable 2 Infinity - Second best Phantasy Star Online game. Look I have a whole video series on it over on YouTube. Including a video on PSP2i specifically.
- Metroid Prime: Trilogy - Yeah, it still holds up. Haven't played through 2 or 3 in about a decade and a half. But the trilogy is all fantastic. And to be honest I actually think 2 may be my new favorite in the series. Though 3 has the best fights.
- Skate Story - A fantastic, beautiful, and surreal experience. Worth it just for the music. And I say this all as someone who's never played a skating game before.
- Metroid Prime 4: Beyond - Not as good as the trilogy. Still good. Just... Less good. I did write a review of it, if you're interested.
